We are a family of 5, who for the past few years have been on a journey towards living a simpler, more back to basics life. We aren't great at it but we are learning new things everyday. Follow our journey towards stepping away from the traditional stores by buying locally, preserving foods and trying to make things ourselves from scratch.

Soaking up the sunshine :)
We decided to spend the weekend out in the great outdoors with friends and family. The kids pitched a tent and we took out all the outdoor games that had been collecting dust in the shed. It seems we are always so busy running around and getting things done that we don't have the time to just sit out and enjoy our own backyard oasis.
We headed to the local Farmer's market, fruit stand and butcher shop early in the morning yesterday and were blessed with a delicious meal cooked on the outdoor cooker that my husband built. Of course the laughter of friends and family always make for a magical evening around the campfire.
Life is good when you just take the time to stop and smell the roses.
Speaking of......our bee box is finally starting to bloom! :) We planted a wild flower box this year to encourage the bees to visit and pollinate our fruit trees and pumpkins...so far so good :)
